Obeying here and now
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matt 28:19,20)
The Great Commission doesn’t have to take place in another country. It can happen anywhere… your work, school, neighborhood, Panera Bread, etc.
Hope is required
” but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15)
Be prepared to share your reason for the hope in Jesus succintly (2-3 sentences) and be prepared to make new friends.
Be prayerful
Pray every mornng believing that God will give you opportunities to share the good news since God desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowneldge of the truth (1 Tim2:4).
Teach to obey

Study the bible with those God brings, with emphasis on obedience. Learn to lead Bible studies using only the Bible. Use the inductive Bible study method (Google if you aren’t familiar with the method). Convert the verses into questions to solicit participation and meaningful conversations. Don’t preach. Don’t dominate the conversation. Believe that Holy Spirit will teach (John 14:26).
Encourage your disciple to disciple others.
End Goal
Always keep the end goal in mind: making disciples who are making other disciples. (1 Tim 2:2). Essentially, we are making disciplers. Our means and methods should be reproducible.
